The L-TEC Premium strings are the first strings in the world to be specifically designed to work together in the stringbed in a hybrid combination. The dynamic effect of combining two strings of different shapes / compositions allows the player to fine-tune their game in regard to spin, control, weight of shot, ball speed and precision.
The L-TEC product line features both copoly/copoly hybrid combinations as well as copoly/synthetic hybrid combinations.
Until the introduction of L-TEC in 2011 no string company in the world produced or recommended copoly/copoly hybrids. L-TEC changed all of that led by their patented L-TEC Premium 3S/L-TEC Premium 4S hybrid combination. L-TEC is the first company to specifically design strings to optimize flatter contact points that promote maximum string movement. It has been proven that a low coefficient of friction between strings allows the strings to slide and snap back providing the player with additional spin and control. By making use of flatter surfaces, a hard/slick finish and rounded edges L-TEC has cleverly created a scenario where strings move freely while resisting the notching that can inhibit string movement.
In addition to a low coefficient of friction between strings, a high coefficient of friction between the stringbed and the ball is an essential element in reaching the potential of a full copoly stringbed. Some profiled and twisted strings with sharp edges are exceptionally good at achieving the objective of grabbing the ball, but their downfall is the sharp edges cause notching that greatly inhibits string movement after just a brief period of hitting time. L-TEC Premium strings stand out by making use of rounded edges/profiles that allow the shape of the string to grab the ball while sliding on one another with limited notching.
2011 also ushered in a new paradigm in regard to copoly/synthetic hybrids. Until L-TEC was introduced to the marketplace players were being served pre-packaged hybrids of two existing string products paired together and given the label, "hybrid." (They were never designed/intended to work together.) L-TEC was again the first to specifically conceive and design their strings to work together in generating the best possible combination of properties. L-TEC Premium synthetics are distinctly different from regular synthetic gut and multifilament strings. They are designed to be used as cross strings with copoly mains. The L-TEC synthetics are remarkably innovative from a design standpoint. The core is constructed in a manner similar to squash string specifications with modifications being made to allow respectable durability when paired with copoly mains. The result is a new breed of synthetic string that offers tremendous feel and reaches full playing potential at much lower tensions than traditional tennis synthetics/multis.
